Some pictures from Arequipa

Hey,

so here's some pictures from Arequipa, Peru. Sorry, but they're out of order. I've put the dates by them.

This is me in Lima Airport @ 2am on Saturday morning. I had been flying since 7am the day before, and now Tim and I were staying the airport until our flight left at 7am on Saturday for Arequipa....man were we tired and stinky...

This is a picture from the flight from Lima to Arequipa. (Saturday AM)

This is a picture of a plaza in a shopping area of Arequipa. The cathedral in the background is incredibly huge. (Monday PM)

This is a snack we had today (Tuesday). The ring type dough thingy's are sorta sweet with a syrup like dip. In the top right corner of the picture you will see a stick with a couple pieces of flat meat on it -- that's cow heart..mm...it was actually quite good. (Tues PM)

This picture is taken from a viewpoint in South West Arequipa. What I'm focusing on is the mud/straw roof'd house beside the brick walled house. It's shocking to think that there is such poverty immediately beside a nice house (on left). (Tues PM)

This is the house that Tim and I are staying at. (Tues AM)

This is a Catholic Cathedral right beside a plaza. These yellow taxis are EVERYWHERE! (Mon PM)

This is the river that runs through Arequipa. It's very dirty. It fills up REALLY fast when it rains (it's rained every evening since we've been here). The streets do not have storm drains, so when it rains, it forms huge puddles/small lakes quickly.
