Some more pics from Arequipa
This is a picture taken from a ´Cobee´(sp?). These are the local busses. It cost about .40c USD to travel about 10 minutes....stinkin cheap. They can get VERY crowded, I was fortunate to not take one at peak travel time.
This picture shows their process of building houses. They build as they can afford it. This house was built with only one level, but most houses (even those with 3 levels) have rebar (steel bars) stick out so that when you´re ready/can afford to add on, it´s easy to do so...neat eh?
We had dinner here tonight...Turkish Restaurant...mmm soo good. The hot sauce was a LIL spicy for even me...
Tonight we were able to share in a prayer meeting with some people from the sister church. The lady in the middle (Felicitas) encouraged us that even though her marriage is tough right now, God has sustained her and given her strenght to love her husband (not a believer, and an alcoholic). The gentleman beside her is (Falstos), he is leading hte prayer meeting tonight. He encouraged us by thanking and praying for us and the team that will be coming down in July. If you think of it, please be praying for Felicitas and her marriage.
This is Tim Visscher & I. Tim is a Project Manager with Hungry for Life, and him and I worked together on this assessment trip to plan the trip for the team this summer. Please be praying for us as we continue to plan details for the team. Also, Tim and I are flying from Arequipa to Lima on Thursday A; be praying for direction, travelling in Lima, and meetings with our prospective contacts in Lima. thanks for looking at the blog! Ciao!
