Ola to those in Caronport, Alberta, BC, Washington, and beyond…
A mass e-mail is the easiest way to update y’all on Kristie and I right now, so here’s the scoop:
Kristie has just today started working at Hungry for Life (HFL) (again). She’ll be working closely with the CFO (chief financial officer) assisting him, and also doing some administrative work. We’re not sure if it will be full time or part time, it depends on the work load. Work at Scotiabank in Chilliwack didn’t work out for Kristie (which she is very okay with). They weren’t willing to commit to a regular schedule – which Kristie and I wanted. Kristie would love to work full-time at HFL, but like I said earlier, we don’t know if there’s enough to do full time yet.
Also, today is my official start date with Blessings Christian Marketplace. I’m not sure if all of you know the details of this job, but the simplified version is this. My role is Retail Operations Trainer (full-time). My goal is to help the 27 stores across Canada at maintaining a unified approach to sales/marketing, using the central computer system to its fullest, and to help encourage good communication between the stores and head office (something that is lacking right now). For the first few months however, I will be working with the IT and practical side of getting the offices in Chilliwack set up. The head offices are currently in Edmonton and will be moved by Sep 1 to Chilliwack. Until then I will be ensuring the Chilliwack office is up and running and ready for all the new staff that will come while also familiarizing myself with the company.
Kristie and I are moving into our new basement suite TOMORROW and we are so excited. I will try to take some pictures and post them on our blog so you can see for yourself.
